Fortress Battles
Fortress Battles are the highest-stakes PvP event in the game. Alliances fight for control of strategic fortress points every two weeks, gaining territory, a growing treasury, and access to an exclusive shop.
Each of the 4 Castle quadrants has exactly one Fortress. Controlling it gives the owning Alliance protected purple territory and a Vault that grows from battles on that territory.
Schedule
Fortress battles happen on a fixed bi-weekly schedule: every other Thursday at 16:00 UTC. All 4 fortresses battle simultaneously.
During fortress battle hour, normal ownership and skirmish battles are paused. Ruins (PvE) continue as normal.
Registration
Only Alliance Leaders can register their Alliance for a fortress battle. Use the /fortress_battle_reg command while standing at the fortress tile.
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Castle match | Your Alliance can only fight at your own Castle's Fortress |
| One fortress | An Alliance that already owns a Fortress cannot register at another |
| Registration window | Opens 24 hours before battle, locks 1 hour before |
| Owner auto-defends | The owning Alliance is always included, no registration needed |
To unregister: /fortress_battle_unreg (not available in the final hour before battle).
Who Fights
Alliances - registered challenger Alliances and the owner Alliance (auto-included).
Castle players (no Alliance) - automatically included if present at the fortress tile when the battle starts. Their Castle must match the fortress quadrant.
| Fortress State | Castle Player Role |
|---|---|
| Empty | Defender - defends the empty fortress alongside other Castle players |
| Captured | Rebel - fights to liberate the fortress from the owning Alliance |
Players from a different Castle, players not at the fortress tile, or busy players cannot participate.
Each Alliance fights as its own team. Castle players without an Alliance fight together as one team. A battle can have 3+ sides.
Garrison Requirement
If an Alliance owns a fortress, they must have at least 5 members at the fortress tile when the battle starts. If they don't, the fortress is considered abandoned:
- All Alliance territory reverts to Castle color
- If challengers are present, they receive the Fortress Vault contents
- If no challengers, the vault stays for the next capturer
Victory and Rewards
| Scenario | Result | Vault |
|---|---|---|
| New Alliance wins | Takes fortress ownership. All territory transfers. | Transferred to winner Alliance treasury |
| Owner Alliance wins | Nothing changes | Vault keeps growing |
| Rebels (Castle players) win | Fortress liberated, returns to empty state | Gold distributed among rebels, GP to rebel guilds |
| Owner fails garrison, challengers present | Fortress abandoned, territory reverts | Distributed among challengers |
| Owner fails garrison, no challengers | Fortress becomes empty, territory reverts | Stays on fortress for next capturer |
Winners and losers also receive standard battle rewards (XP, loot, gold).
Loot stealing: Loot is only stolen from the attacking side when they lose. If the defending alliance loses, their items and gold are not stolen. Defenders are not punished for showing up.
Fortress Vault
The Vault is a treasury that accumulates gold and GP from PvP activity on purple (Alliance) territory. The more battles happen on your land, the bigger the vault grows.
The vault has no cap. It grows indefinitely. The owner cannot spend it. It can only be claimed by capturing the fortress or liberating it as rebels.
Visibility: Everyone can see the vault balance in the /fortress command. Watch the bounty grow and decide when it's worth attacking.
Fortress Arsenal
The owning Alliance gains access to an exclusive shop at the fortress tile.
Access requirements:
- At the fortress tile
- Level 20+
- Guild Owner (not just member)
- Your Alliance owns this fortress
- Your Guild has the Workshop service (level 6+)
Available items:
| Item | Gold | GP | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| D-grade Lootbox | 1,101 | 100 GP | 10 per day |
| C-grade Lootbox | 2,109 | 210 GP | 10 per day |
Stock restocks daily. Payment comes from your Guild treasury. Items are delivered to Guild Storage.
Commands: /fort_list to browse, /fort_buy_[code] to purchase.
Fortress Economy (planned)
Owning a fortress will provide more than just the Vault and Arsenal. A territory economy system is planned for a future release.
The owning Alliance will be able to sell quest scrolls to other players, granting limited access to quest on purple (Alliance) territory. Revenue from scroll sales goes directly to the Alliance treasury, turning fortress ownership into a steady source of income.
This gives alliances a strong reason to hold and expand their territory: more purple tiles means more questing ground to sell access to, and more gold flowing into the treasury.
