Castles and Alliances

Every player belongs to one of 4 Castles - permanent factions chosen at registration. Alliances add a late-game layer for competitive players: capture the Fortress, control territory, and essentially become a fifth Castle.

The Four Castles:

  • 🇮🇲 Red Castle - Northwest quadrant
  • 🇻🇦 Yellow Castle - Southeast quadrant
  • 🇪🇺 Blue Castle - Southwest quadrant
  • 🇲🇴 Green Castle - Northeast quadrant

Your Castle determines where you spawn, which territory is yours, and who your allies are.


Player States:

Castle Player (no guild, no alliance)

  • Belongs to a Castle (color)
  • Can quest on their Castle's territory
  • Participates in territorial battles for their Castle
  • Can join a guild of same Castle

Guild Member (no alliance)

  • Same as above, plus guild benefits (shared storage, deploy, crafting)
  • Guild can create or join an Alliance (same Castle only)

Alliance Member (no fortress)

  • Alliance does not own Fortress yet
  • Behaves same as Castle player for battles
  • Can register to attack Fortress in bi-weekly battle

Alliance Member (with fortress)

  • Alliance owns the Fortress
  • Controls territory (Fortress + adjacent tiles = protected minimum)
  • Can expand territory by capturing tiles (see Claim and Trigger Battles)
  • Defends Fortress in bi-weekly battle (see Fortress Battles)
  • Gets loot bonuses on Alliance territory

Rebel

  • Appears only when Fortress is captured by an Alliance
  • Castle player NOT in that Alliance
  • Can quest on Rebel-controlled tiles (Castle color, not purple)
  • Can defend Rebel territory from Alliance expansion
  • Can attack Fortress to liberate it (returns to empty state)

Guilds:

  • Only players of the same Castle can be in one guild.
  • Guilds can create or join an Alliance.

Alliances:

  • Federation of guilds (same Castle only).
  • Can capture the Fortress of their Castle color.
  • One Alliance can own maximum one Fortress.

Fortress States:

Empty Fortress (no owner):

  • All Castle players can quest anywhere in their quadrant.
  • All Castle players defend together in Fortress battle.
  • Alliances can attack to capture it.

Captured Fortress (owned by Alliance):

  • Alliance controls purple territory (Fortress + surrounding tiles).
  • 5 protected tiles - Fortress + 4 neighbors cannot be taken.
  • Other Castle players become Rebels.
  • Rebels keep their Castle-colored tiles and can fight to liberate the Fortress.

Territory Colors:

Key Rules:

  • You cannot change your Castle (except via expensive passport).
  • Guilds and Alliances are same Castle only.
  • Alliance can only capture Fortress of their own Castle color.
  • When Alliance dissolves, Fortress becomes empty, purple territory reverts to Castle color.
